There’s nothing better than getting out and about to enjoy some clean air and fun. A large amount of folks spend their whole time inside, either at work or in their houses. I feel quiet if I do not luxuriate in some out of doors activity. Even a walk in the park makes me feel better, or a half hour of throwing a Frisbee around. Games like badminton and volleyball are fun to do outside. I especially like to play games on the beach when I am on holiday.
It is a habit we picked up when we visited France.
A powerful snowball fight keeps you young. It would be pretty stormy to prevent me from sledging. An easy picnic at the weekend is a good tonic after a tough week at work. I enjoy just going down to the local pool with a loaf of rancid bread, and feeding the ducks.
I also like to go fishing, early on a morning, on the stream. It’s splendidly relaxing to sit idly on the riverbank. Out of doors activity is good for the mind and the body.
There’s a lot of consultation today about the state of health among the more youthful generation. Each survey shows that they do not get enough exercise and spend too much time before the Television and PC. I believe the issue could be exaggerated when it comes to the stats quoted, but it is still worrying. Parents must do everything in their power to instill a love for out of doors activity in their children from a tender age. Plenty of different hobbies can capture the imagination of the young. An outside activity like orienteering or hiking may appeal to them. Another outside activity we all enjoy as a family is to go paintballing. It’s a good way to let off steam and it’s good exercise too. If you’ve got an appropriate tree in the garden, you might build a tree house. Then the youngsters could live in it all summer. One thing more.
